Ensemble Musikfabrik Cologne commissioned in 2008 the percussionist and instrument maker Thomas Meixner to reconstruct all Harry Partch’s Instrumentarium, in what would be the first whole set existing in Europe. Thomas Meixner (in collaboration and assistance of the late Dean Drummond, director of the Partch instrumentarium till his death in 2013), visited and measured the original instruments in Montclair State University, Montclair New Jersey. The result was a series of more than 50 instruments, replicas of the Harry Partch originals, presented for first time in Harry Partch: Delusion of the Fury, Premier 23.8.2013 by the Ruhrtriennale Bochum.
The construction and learning of the instruments was supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the Arts Foundation of North-Rhine Westphalia.
Harry Partch’s original instruments are placed nowadays (since November 2014) in University of Washington in Seattle, under the direction of Charles Corey
